At the end of this year 2024, the Holy Father will open the Holy Door of St. Peter’s and inaugurate a new Holy Year that will span the next year, 2025. At the same time, the Holy Doors of the other three major basilicas—St. John Lateran, St. Mary Major, and St. Paul Outside the Walls—will also be opened. It is a year of forgiveness and Jubilee celebrated ordinarily every 25 years.
It is a wonderful occasion to embark on a pilgrimage to Rome and participate in some of the special Jubilees detailed in the following pages. These are usually two or three days each, inviting the entire People of God to participate according to their different charisms or situations. When we embark on a pilgrimage, we not only change locations but also transform ourselves.
Components of the Jubilee include reconciliation with God and others, passing through the Holy Door, prayer, liturgy, and the profession of faith. We offer you the opportunity to go to Rome, and with that in mind, we provide the chance to enhance your pilgrimage with some religious or cultural visits in Rome, Assisi, Tuscany, or other parts of Italy.
