Marian Pilgrimage to Zaragoza, Jaca and Lourdes

Experience an inspiring Catholic pilgrimage from the United States to some of the most important Marian and historic Christian sites in Spain and France. This carefully designed journey combines prayer, culture, history, and fellowship while visiting Zaragoza, Jaca, the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña, Lourdes, and Torreciudad.

The pilgrimage begins with an overnight flight from the United States to Madrid. From there, we travel to Zaragoza to visit the magnificent Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar. According to ancient Christian tradition, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared here to the Apostle Saint James, making it one of the oldest centers of Marian devotion in Christianity.

Our journey continues into the foothills of the Spanish Pyrenees and the historic city of Jaca, once the capital of the Kingdom of Aragon and an important stop along the Camino de Santiago. Pilgrims will discover its remarkable Romanesque heritage before visiting the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña. Built beneath a dramatic natural rock formation, this ancient monastery is traditionally associated with the safeguarding of the Holy Chalice.

We then cross the Pyrenees into France for three nights in Lourdes, one of the world’s most beloved Catholic pilgrimage destinations. Here, pilgrims will visit the Grotto of Massabielle, where the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Bernadette Soubirous in 1858, as well as the Basilica of the Rosary, the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, the homes associated with Saint Bernadette, and the Way of the Cross.

The program will provide opportunities for prayer, the celebration of Holy Mass, and participation in the religious ceremonies of the Sanctuary of Lourdes, subject to its official schedule. These may include the Eucharistic Procession and Blessing of the Sick and the unforgettable evening Torchlight Rosary Procession.

On our return to Spain, we will visit the Sanctuary of Torreciudad, a peaceful Marian shrine promoted by Saint Josemaría Escrivá, founder of Opus Dei. The pilgrimage concludes in Madrid, where the group will spend its final night before returning to the United States.

Designed especially for Catholic parishes, ministries, families, and faith-based groups, this pilgrimage offers a meaningful opportunity to deepen your relationship with Christ through the example and intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
