At the heart of the Catholic faith is the Holy Eucharist: Jesus Christ truly present in His Body and Blood. Across Spain, centuries of Catholic history have left us extraordinary places associated with Eucharistic miracles, relics and devotions that continue to invite pilgrims to contemplate this central mystery of our faith.
This special pilgrimage follows the Eastern & Central Route of the Eucharistic Miracles of Spain, beginning in Madrid before traveling to Valencia, where we will stand before one of Christianity’s most remarkable relics: the Holy Chalice preserved in Valencia Cathedral, traditionally venerated as the cup used by Jesus Christ at the Last Supper.
From there, our pilgrimage takes us through the Valencian region to places associated with historic Eucharistic miracles in Moncada, Alboraya-Almácera, Onil and Alcoy, before continuing into Aragón to discover the remarkable Eucharistic tradition of Daroca and other sacred sites around Zaragoza and Huesca.
Our journey culminates in Catalonia with Montserrat, one of Spain’s great Benedictine and Marian sanctuaries, before concluding in Barcelona at the magnificent Basilica of the Sagrada Família.
More than a tour of extraordinary events, this pilgrimage is an invitation to return to what those events ultimately point toward: Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.
The Holy Chalice & the Eucharistic Miracles of Spain
This itinerary is particularly powerful because it combines two complementary dimensions of Eucharistic pilgrimage.
In Valencia, we encounter the Holy Chalice, which tradition connects with the very moment in which Christ instituted the Eucharist at the Last Supper.
Across the remainder of the route, we encounter places where generations of Catholics have preserved accounts of extraordinary events connected with the consecrated Host and Precious Blood.
Yet the purpose of the pilgrimage is not simply to seek the miraculous.
Each site ultimately leads us back to the same altar and the same mystery celebrated throughout the universal Church: “This is my body… This is my blood.”

Day 1 — USA – Madrid
Departure for Spain
Meet at our designated U.S. departure airport for our overnight transatlantic flight to Madrid, Spain.
Our pilgrimage to the Eucharistic heart of Spain begins.

Day 2 — Arrival in Madrid
Welcome to Spain
Upon arrival in Madrid, we will be welcomed by our local team and transferred to our hotel.
After check-in, the remainder of the day will be kept at a relaxed pace, allowing time to recover from the international journey.
In the evening, we will gather for a welcome dinner, an opportunity to meet our fellow pilgrims and prepare for the spiritual journey ahead.

Day 3 — Madrid
Catholic & Historic Madrid
After breakfast, we begin with a guided introduction to the Spanish capital.
Our visit will take us through Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol before continuing toward the Royal Palace and the Cathedral of Santa María la Real de la Almudena, dedicated to the patroness of Madrid.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
The afternoon will be free to explore Madrid, enjoy some shopping or participate in additional visits that can be arranged according to the interests of the group.

Day 4 — Madrid – Valencia
The Holy Chalice of the Last Supper
After breakfast, we depart Madrid and travel toward the Mediterranean city of Valencia.
Our principal destination today is Valencia Cathedral, where we will visit the Chapel of the Holy Chalice.
Here pilgrims can venerate the ancient cup traditionally identified as the Holy Chalice used by Jesus at the Last Supper.
The relic has been venerated for centuries and has received particular attention from the modern papacy. Both St. John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI used the Chalice during celebrations of Holy Mass in Valencia.
For a pilgrimage centered on the Eucharist, beginning our route before the Chalice immediately connects the journey to the institution of the Eucharist on Holy Thursday.
Time for prayer will be provided, and Holy Mass may be arranged according to availability.

Day 5 — Valencia – Moncada – Alboraya & Almácera – Valencia
Eucharistic Miracles of Valencia
Today we begin exploring the remarkable Eucharistic heritage surrounding Valencia.
We will travel first to Moncada, visiting the place associated with its historic Eucharistic tradition and learning how devotion surrounding these events has been preserved by the local Church and faithful.
We then continue toward Alboraya and Almácera, neighboring communities with another important Eucharistic tradition.
Our visits will be approached not simply as historical curiosities but as opportunities for prayer and reflection upon the Catholic belief in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we return to Valencia.
The remainder of the afternoon will be free to enjoy the historic center, with the possibility of arranging additional visits such as the Basilica of Our Lady of the Forsaken, Church of San Nicolás, or further time at Valencia Cathedral.

Day 6 — Valencia – Onil – Alcoy – Valencia
Eucharistic Faith in the Valencian Lands
After breakfast, we travel south toward the province of Alicante.
Our first destination will be Onil, where we will discover the local tradition surrounding a Eucharistic miracle and the remarkable story through which the sacred Host became an object of enduring devotion.
We then continue to Alcoy, another city with a rich Catholic history and its own traditions associated with the Blessed Sacrament.
These smaller pilgrimage destinations provide an opportunity to experience a side of Catholic Spain that many international visitors never encounter: local communities where Eucharistic devotion has been handed down across generations.
After lunch and our visits, return to Valencia.

Day 7 — Valencia – Zaragoza
Our Lady of the Pillar & the Eucharistic Heart of Aragón
After breakfast, we leave Valencia and travel north toward Zaragoza.
Our principal visit will be the magnificent Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, one of the great Marian sanctuaries of the Catholic world.
According to ancient Christian tradition, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared here to St. James the Greater while he was evangelizing Hispania, encouraging the Apostle in his mission.
We will have time to pray before Our Lady of the Pillar, while our program will also introduce us to Zaragoza’s Eucharistic heritage and sacred sites.
Holy Mass may be arranged according to liturgical schedules.

Day 8 — Zaragoza – Daroca – Huesca
The Eucharistic Miracle of Daroca
Today brings us to one of the most important Eucharistic destinations on our journey: Daroca.
The town is associated with the famous Miracle of the Sacred Corporals of Daroca, a medieval Eucharistic tradition dating to the 13th century.
The story of the Sacred Corporals became one of the great expressions of Eucharistic devotion in medieval Spain, attracting pilgrims and contributing to the spread of devotion to the Blessed Sacrament.
We will visit the sacred places associated with the miracle and have time for prayer and reflection.
Afterward, we continue toward Huesca, where our program will introduce us to the city’s Cathedral and its Eucharistic heritage.

Day 9 — Huesca – Montserrat – Barcelona
Eucharist, Mary & Montserrat
After breakfast, we leave Aragón and travel into Catalonia toward the extraordinary mountain of Montserrat.
Here we will visit the historic Benedictine Abbey of Santa Maria de Montserrat, one of the great spiritual centers of Spain.
We will venerate Our Lady of Montserrat — La Moreneta, Patroness of Catalonia, and learn about the Eucharistic traditions associated with Montserrat and the spiritual life of its Benedictine community.
There will be time for prayer and, depending on the schedule of the Abbey, the possibility of participating in Holy Mass or other liturgical celebrations.
After lunch, we continue to Barcelona.

Day 10 — Barcelona
Sagrada Família & Catholic Barcelona
Our final full day begins with a guided tour of Barcelona.
The spiritual and architectural highlight will be the extraordinary Basilica of the Sagrada Família, Antoni Gaudí’s monumental expression of the Christian faith.
Far beyond its famous architecture, the Basilica can be understood as a vast catechesis in stone: the life of Christ, His Incarnation, Passion, Death and Resurrection are incorporated throughout Gaudí’s vision.
Our tour will also introduce us to the Gothic Quarter and other important areas of the city. Depending on the final program, Park Güell may also be included.
After lunch, the afternoon will be free for personal exploration, shopping or optional additional visits.
In the evening, we may arrange a farewell dinner to celebrate the conclusion of our pilgrimage.

Day 11 — Barcelona – USA
Return Home
After breakfast, transfer to Barcelona International Airport for our return flight to the United States.
We return home after following a remarkable path through the Eucharistic heritage of Spain, from the Holy Chalice traditionally associated with the Last Supper to the ancient miracle traditions of Valencia and Aragón and the great sanctuaries of Zaragoza and Montserrat.
Above all, we return with a renewed invitation to encounter Christ where the Church encounters Him every day: in the Holy Eucharist.
