WYD Seoul 2027

World Youth Day Pilgrimage to South Korea

August 2–9, 2027 | Seoul, South Korea | Groups from the USA

Experience World Youth Day in the Heart of Asia

In August 2027, young Catholics from around the world will gather in Seoul, South Korea, for one of the great international encounters of the Catholic Church: World Youth Day Seoul 2027.

For one extraordinary week, Seoul will become a meeting place for the universal Church — bringing together young people from different countries, languages and cultures for prayer, catechesis, celebration, fellowship and encounters with the Holy Father.

Pilgrim Groups Travel is preparing customized WYD Seoul 2027 pilgrimage programs for parishes, dioceses, Catholic schools, universities, youth ministries and other Catholic organizations traveling from the United States.

Our goal is to take care of the complex logistics of an international event of this scale so that priests, youth ministers and group leaders can focus on what matters most: preparing their young people to experience World Youth Day as a true pilgrimage of faith.

The program below represents a preliminary framework and will be adapted as additional official information about WYD Seoul 2027 becomes available.

What Is World Youth Day?

World Youth Day — WYD — is much more than an international Catholic event. It is a pilgrimage.

Young Catholics from across the world come together to pray, encounter one another, deepen their relationship with Christ and experience something that can sometimes be difficult to appreciate within our everyday lives:

the extraordinary universality of the Catholic Church.

Throughout World Youth Day, pilgrims participate in catechesis, prayer, cultural encounters, celebrations of the Eucharist and major gatherings with the Holy Father.

For many young Catholics, WYD becomes one of the defining experiences of their faith journey.

Seoul 2027 offers something particularly special.

Hosting World Youth Day in South Korea gives pilgrims from the United States the opportunity not only to participate in this extraordinary gathering, but also to encounter the Church in Asia and discover a Catholic history marked by extraordinary courage, evangelization and martyrdom.

More Than World Youth Day — Discover Catholic Korea

Traveling all the way to South Korea also provides an extraordinary opportunity to discover a country and a Church that many American pilgrims may never otherwise have the opportunity to encounter.

For groups wishing to make their journey more extensive, Pilgrim Groups Travel can develop pre- or post-WYD extensions incorporating additional cultural and Catholic experiences in Korea.

Depending on the number of available days and the interests of the group, these may include Catholic shrines, sites associated with the Korean Martyrs, historic Seoul, Korean cultural experiences and additional destinations throughout South Korea.

Longer Asian pilgrimage extensions may also be studied upon request.

A WYD Pilgrimage Designed Around Your Group

No two parishes or dioceses are exactly alike.

For this reason, our WYD Seoul 2027 programs can be customized according to the departure city, group size, budget, age profile and pastoral objectives of each organization.

Depending on the needs of the group, arrangements may include:

International flights from the USA • airport transfers • hotel accommodation • daily transportation • accompanying assistance • WYD logistics • group meals • travel insurance options • pre-WYD programs • post-WYD extensions • Catholic Korea visits • cultural experiences • private group activities

As official information, schedules and registration details for WYD Seoul 2027 continue to develop, the final itinerary will be adapted accordingly.

Why Travel to WYD Seoul 2027?

A World Youth Day pilgrimage can leave an impact long after the journey itself has ended.

Young people discover that their parish is part of something much larger.

They meet Catholics their own age from around the world.

They pray together.

They encounter different cultures.

They celebrate the Eucharist with the universal Church.

And they return home having experienced Catholicism not simply as something local, but as a living, global Church.

For parishes, dioceses and Catholic schools, Seoul 2027 is an opportunity to invest in the faith of the next generation.

For young pilgrims, it may become an experience they remember for the rest of their lives.

Come to Seoul. Meet the universal Church. Live World Youth Day.
