A Journey of Faith Following Spain’s Eucharistic Miracles
Spain preserves an extraordinary heritage of Eucharistic devotion, miracles and centuries-old Catholic tradition. This pilgrimage has been designed around places where extraordinary events associated with the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist have been remembered and venerated by generations of the faithful.
From the mountains of Galicia and the ancient pilgrimage village of O Cebreiro, through Aragón and Catalonia, we will follow a route connecting Eucharistic traditions with some of Spain’s greatest Catholic destinations.
Along the way, the pilgrimage also brings us to Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza, the Benedictine sanctuary of Montserrat, magnificent cathedrals and churches, and finally Barcelona’s extraordinary Basilica of the Sagrada Família.
More than a historical tour, this journey is an invitation to rediscover the Eucharist as the source and summit of Christian life through Holy Mass, prayer, fellowship and encounters with the Catholic heritage of Spain.
Why a Pilgrimage to the Eucharistic Miracles?
For Catholics, the Eucharist is not simply a symbol or remembrance of the Last Supper. It is the sacramental presence of Jesus Christ — Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity.
Throughout Christian history, certain extraordinary events have become associated with the Eucharist and have inspired generations of Catholics to deepen their faith in the Real Presence.
This pilgrimage approaches these traditions within the broader sacramental life of the Church. The miracles are not the center of our faith; rather, they point pilgrims back toward the mystery celebrated every day upon Catholic altars throughout the world.
For this reason, the journey can be especially meaningful for parishes, Eucharistic ministries, priests, deacons, Catholic schools, families and groups seeking a pilgrimage centered specifically on the Blessed Sacrament.

This pilgrimage can be organized as a private parish or Catholic group pilgrimage from the United States and the Americas.
The proposed route is adaptable. Depending on the group, we can incorporate daily Holy Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, conferences or spiritual reflections, additional Eucharistic sites, more free time, or extensions to Santiago de Compostela, Lourdes, Fátima or other destinations in Spain and Europe.

Proposed Itinerary
Day 1 — USA – Madrid
Departure for Spain
Meet at the designated U.S. airport and board our overnight transatlantic flight to Madrid, Spain, beginning our pilgrimage through the Eucharistic heritage of the Iberian Peninsula.

Day 2 — Arrival in Madrid
Welcome to Spain
Upon arrival in Madrid, we will be welcomed by our local team and transferred to our hotel.
The remainder of the day will be kept at a relaxed pace after the international journey, with time to settle into the hotel and prepare for the pilgrimage ahead.
In the evening, we will gather for a welcome dinner.

Day 3 — Madrid
Catholic & Historic Madrid
After breakfast, we begin our exploration of the Spanish capital.
Our guided visit will introduce us to some of Madrid’s principal landmarks, including Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and the Royal Palace.
Of particular importance to our pilgrimage will be the Cathedral of Santa María la Real de la Almudena, dedicated to the patroness of Madrid.
Subject to liturgical arrangements, Holy Mass may be celebrated during our time in Madrid.
The afternoon will be free for personal exploration, shopping or optional additional visits.

Day 4 — Madrid – Ponferrada – O Cebreiro – León
Toward the Eucharistic Miracles of Northern Spain
After breakfast, we begin our journey into northern Spain and the historic lands crossed by the Camino de Santiago.
Our route will take us toward the region of El Bierzo, where visits connected with local Eucharistic traditions may be incorporated according to the final program.
We then continue to O Cebreiro, one of the most evocative places on the Camino de Santiago and home to one of Spain’s best-known traditions of a Eucharistic miracle.
According to the centuries-old tradition, during Mass celebrated in the mountain church, the consecrated Host and wine became visibly transformed into flesh and blood. The sacred vessels associated with the miracle continue to be venerated in the church.
There will be time for prayer and reflection before continuing toward León, another of the great cities of the Camino.

Day 5 — León – Burgos – Zaragoza
Across the Camino to Aragón
After breakfast, we depart León and travel east.
Our journey takes us through Burgos, where we will enjoy a visit to its historic center and magnificent Cathedral of Santa María, one of the masterpieces of Gothic architecture in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
For centuries, Burgos has welcomed pilgrims making their way toward the tomb of St. James in Santiago de Compostela.
After lunch, we continue toward Zaragoza, capital of Aragón and home to one of the most important Marian sanctuaries in Spain.

Day 6 — Zaragoza
Our Lady of the Pillar & Eucharistic Devotion
Today we discover the Catholic heart of Zaragoza.
We will visit the magnificent Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, where ancient Christian tradition holds that the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to St. James the Greater while he was evangelizing Hispania.
We will have time to pray before the image of Our Lady of the Pillar and discover the extraordinary history of this sanctuary.
Our program will also explore the city’s Eucharistic heritage and traditions, with visits adapted according to church schedules and access.
The afternoon will provide free time for prayer, personal exploration or additional optional visits.

Day 7 — Zaragoza – Huesca – Ivorra – Girona
Following the Eucharistic Miracles Across Aragón & Catalonia
After breakfast, we continue our Eucharistic pilgrimage through northeastern Spain.
Our journey takes us through Huesca and onward to places associated with the region’s traditions of Eucharistic devotion.
One of today’s principal destinations will be Ivorra, where a famous Eucharistic miracle is traditionally associated with the priest Bernat Oliver.
According to the tradition, while celebrating Mass and struggling with doubts concerning the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, the consecrated chalice miraculously filled and overflowed with blood.
Ivorra subsequently became a place of pilgrimage and Eucharistic devotion.
After time for prayer and our visit, we continue through Catalonia toward Girona.

Day 8 — Girona
Eucharistic Heritage & Medieval Catalonia
Today we explore Girona, one of Catalonia’s most beautiful historic cities.
We will visit the magnificent Cathedral of Saint Mary of Girona, dominating the medieval city from its monumental staircase.
Our pilgrimage will also include places associated with Eucharistic devotion and local traditions, according to the final arrangements and accessibility of the churches concerned.
The remainder of the day allows us to discover Girona’s remarkable medieval center, with time for personal prayer and exploration.

Day 9 — Girona – Montserrat – Barcelona
Our Lady of Montserrat & the Sagrada Família
After breakfast, we travel to one of the great spiritual landmarks of Catalonia: Montserrat.
Rising dramatically above the surrounding countryside, the mountain has been a place of Christian pilgrimage for centuries.
At the Benedictine monastery, we will visit the Basilica and venerate Our Lady of Montserrat — La Moreneta, Patroness of Catalonia.
Time will be available for prayer and, according to arrangements, participation in Holy Mass.
After lunch, we continue to Barcelona, where our pilgrimage culminates with a visit to Antoni Gaudí’s extraordinary Basilica of the Sagrada Família.
More than an architectural landmark, the Sagrada Família was conceived as a monumental profession of the Christian faith, filled with biblical and theological symbolism.
A special farewell dinner may be arranged this evening.

Day 10 — Barcelona – USA
Return Home
After breakfast, transfer to Barcelona International Airport for our return flight to the United States.
We return home after a journey through Spain centered upon the mystery at the heart of Catholic life: Christ truly present in the Eucharist.
Return flight and end of our pilgrimage services.
