From Our Lady of Guadalupe to Fátima and the Mountains of Covadonga
This pilgrimage brings together three of the great Marian devotions of the Iberian Peninsula with one of Christianity’s most ancient pilgrimage destinations: Santiago de Compostela.
Our journey begins at the magnificent Royal Monastery of Our Lady of Guadalupe, where devotion to the Virgin has flourished for centuries and from where her name and devotion would eventually cross the Atlantic and become deeply rooted in the Catholic history of the Americas.
We then cross into Portugal to spend time in Fátima, where Our Lady appeared to the three shepherd children in 1917 and entrusted them with a message of prayer, conversion and peace.
From Fátima, our pilgrimage continues north to Santiago de Compostela, where generations of pilgrims have journeyed to pray at the tomb of St. James the Greater, Apostle of Christ.
Finally, among the spectacular mountains of Asturias, we encounter Our Lady of Covadonga — La Santina. Her shrine is intimately connected with the Christian history of Spain and remains one of the country’s most beloved Marian pilgrimage destinations.
Along the way, we will also discover the Holy Chamber and its extraordinary relics in Oviedo, the Gothic splendor of Burgos, ancient Segovia and Catholic Madrid.
This is a pilgrimage through Mary, the Apostles, the saints, sacred relics and the living Catholic heritage of Spain and Portugal.
Three Marian Shrines — One Pilgrimage
What makes this journey particularly special is the opportunity to encounter three very different expressions of Marian devotion.
At Guadalupe, we discover a devotion rooted in medieval Spain that would become extraordinarily significant in the Catholic history of the Hispanic world.
At Fátima, we encounter Mary’s modern call to prayer, conversion and peace.
At Covadonga, we find an ancient devotion inseparable from the Christian history and identity of Asturias.
Between these three Marian sanctuaries stands Santiago de Compostela.
Mary leads us toward Christ, and Santiago reminds us of the apostolic mission: to receive the Gospel, live it and carry it into the world.

This pilgrimage can be organized for parishes, dioceses, Catholic schools, ministries, families, associations and private Catholic groups traveling from the United States and the Americas.
The itinerary can be adapted according to the group’s available dates, budget, spiritual interests and physical needs. Additional nights or extensions can also be arranged in Madrid, Portugal, Lourdes, Barcelona or other destinations in Spain and Europe.
Pilgrimage Highlights

Day 1 — USA – Madrid
Departure for Spain
At the appropriate time, we will meet at our designated U.S. departure airport and board our overnight transatlantic flight to Madrid, Spain.

Day 2 — Madrid – Guadalupe
Welcome to Spain & Journey to Our Lady of Guadalupe
Upon arrival in Madrid, we will be welcomed by our local team and board our private motor coach.
We travel through the landscapes of central Spain toward the historic town of Guadalupe, home to one of the country’s most important Marian sanctuaries.
Depending on our flight schedule, the remainder of the day will be kept light, allowing time to rest after the international journey and prepare spiritually for the pilgrimage ahead.
Welcome dinner and overnight.

Day 3 — Guadalupe – Mérida – Fátima
Our Lady of Guadalupe & the Christian Heritage of Iberia
After breakfast, we begin our pilgrimage at the magnificent Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the great centers of Marian devotion in Spain.
Here we will venerate Our Lady of Guadalupe, whose devotion became closely connected with Spain’s encounter with the Americas and would eventually give her name to one of the most beloved Marian devotions in the New World.
After our visit and time for prayer, we continue to Mérida, ancient Emerita Augusta, where we will discover part of its extraordinary Roman archaeological heritage and the world in which Christianity first spread throughout Hispania.
We then cross the border into Portugal and continue to Fátima.

Day 4 — Fátima
Our Lady of Fátima
Today is dedicated entirely to one of the world’s great Marian pilgrimage destinations.
In 1917, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared here to the three shepherd children — Lúcia dos Santos and Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto — calling the faithful to prayer, conversion and penance.
We will visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, including the Chapel of the Apparitions, built at the place where Our Lady appeared, and the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, where Francisco, Jacinta and Lúcia are buried.
We will also travel to Aljustrel, the village of the shepherd children, allowing us to encounter the humble surroundings in which their extraordinary story unfolded.
Time will be provided for personal prayer and participation in the spiritual activities of the Sanctuary, including Holy Mass.
Depending on the season and Sanctuary schedule, pilgrims may also have the opportunity to participate in the Rosary and candlelight procession.

Day 5 — Fátima – Santiago de Compostela
From a Marian Sanctuary to the Tomb of an Apostle
After breakfast, we leave Fátima and travel north toward Galicia and Santiago de Compostela.
For more than a thousand years, pilgrims from throughout Europe and beyond have journeyed to Santiago to venerate the tomb traditionally identified as that of St. James the Greater, one of the Twelve Apostles and brother of St. John.
Upon arrival, we will have our first encounter with the historic center and the magnificent Cathedral dominating the Plaza del Obradoiro.
The remainder of the day allows us to absorb the unique atmosphere of a city shaped by centuries of pilgrimage.

Day 6 — Santiago de Compostela
At the Tomb of St. James the Apostle
Today we experience the spiritual heart of the Camino de Santiago.
We will visit the magnificent Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, built over the traditional resting place of St. James the Apostle.
There will be time to pray at the Apostle’s tomb and participate in the Pilgrim’s Mass, according to the Cathedral’s liturgical schedule.
We will also discover the historic streets and squares surrounding the Cathedral, where pilgrims have arrived after walking the Camino for generations.
The afternoon allows time for personal prayer, exploration or additional activities according to the interests of the group.

Day 7 — Santiago de Compostela – Oviedo
From Galicia to Asturias
After breakfast, we leave Galicia and travel through the beautiful landscapes of northern Spain toward Oviedo, capital of Asturias.
Oviedo itself occupies an important place in the history of Christian pilgrimage in Spain and is closely connected with the origins of the Camino Primitivo, the Primitive Way to Santiago.
Upon arrival, we will enjoy time to discover its historic center and prepare for the following day’s pilgrimage through Asturias.

Day 8 — Oviedo – Covadonga – Oviedo
The Holy Shroud & Our Lady of Covadonga
Today brings together two of Asturias’ greatest spiritual treasures.
We begin with Oviedo Cathedral, dedicated to the Holy Savior. Within its historic Cámara Santa — Holy Chamber — are preserved some of medieval Spain’s most venerated Christian relics, including the Sudarium of Oviedo, traditionally identified as the cloth placed over the face of Christ after His death.
We then travel into the spectacular landscape of the Picos de Europa to reach Covadonga.
Here, surrounded by mountains, we pilgrimage to the Holy Cave, where the beloved image of Our Lady of Covadonga — La Santina — is venerated.
Covadonga is inseparable from the Christian identity of Asturias and the history of medieval Spain. Pilgrims continue to come here seeking the intercession of the Blessed Virgin in a setting where faith, history and nature meet in an extraordinary way.
We will also visit the Basilica of Santa María la Real de Covadonga and have time for prayer.
Weather and time permitting, an optional excursion to the spectacular Lakes of Covadonga may also be arranged.
Return to Oviedo.

Day 9 — Oviedo – Burgos
Gothic Spain & the Camino de Santiago
After breakfast, we leave Asturias and travel toward Burgos, one of the great historic cities along the French Way of the Camino de Santiago.
At its center stands the magnificent Cathedral of Santa María de Burgos, one of Spain’s masterpieces of Gothic architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Upon arrival, we will have time to discover the Cathedral and historic center and experience another city profoundly shaped by the centuries-old passage of pilgrims traveling toward Santiago.
Dinner and overnight.

Day 10 — Burgos – Segovia – Madrid
Through the Heart of Castile
After breakfast, we travel south toward Segovia.
We will discover this beautiful Castilian city, beginning with its extraordinary Roman Aqueduct, one of the finest surviving monuments of Roman Hispania.
Our visit continues through the historic center toward the Cathedral of Segovia and the impressive Alcázar, dramatically positioned above the surrounding landscape.
There may also be an opportunity to enjoy one of the city’s famous culinary traditions, cochinillo segoviano — Segovian roast suckling pig.
After our visit, we continue toward Madrid.

Day 11 — Madrid
Our Lady of Almudena & the Spanish Capital
Our final full day begins at the Cathedral of Santa María la Real de la Almudena, dedicated to Our Lady of Almudena, patroness of Madrid.
Subject to arrangements, this may provide a beautiful setting for our final Holy Mass, giving thanks for the graces received throughout our pilgrimage.
We will then discover some of the great landmarks of the Spanish capital, including the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and Gran Vía.
The remainder of the day may include free time for shopping, personal exploration or a special farewell dinner with our fellow pilgrims.

Day 12 — Madrid – USA
Return Home
After breakfast, transfer to Madrid International Airport for our return flight to the United States.
We return home having prayed before Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of Fátima, St. James the Apostle, the sacred relics of Oviedo, Our Lady of Covadonga and Our Lady of Almudena — a journey across the spiritual landscape of the Iberian Peninsula.
Arrival in the United States and end of our pilgrimage services.
